Harry's Recommendations : A selection of restaurants and hotels in France

Following various trips to France, here are my own personal recommendations, for quality restaurants and for hotels. If you are going to be in the vicinity, I recommend a visit to any of the following:



In between Honfleur and Trouville:
The Hotel and Restaurant Romantica - this is a lovely hotel set in its own grounds on a hilltop.

In Bayeux:
Great Hotel/Restaurant Le Lion d'Or - absolutely fabulous food and very comfortable accommodation.

In Saint-Omer:
Restaurant du Cygne - magnificent restaurant.

A good hotel in St Omer is Le Bretagne - which also has a fine restaurant. Price for a 4-course meal with aperitifs, Champagne and two bottles of wine £25 per person!

In Brionne:
Another hotel/restaurant with food to die for! Le Logis - Alan Depoix is the restaurateur. Make sure you experience his expertise.

Le Relais
We have eaten here many times over the years (as individuals and with large groups) and the food has been excellent both in quality and value for money. You really step back in time here; France as it used to be. Madame Rivelon, who owns and runs the hotel/restaurant, is a wonderful character - we love coming here. Ask to see the ancient wine-list for curiosity, but always ask for their recommendations with the food, as certain delights are always kept in the cellars for discerning palates!
