'Country Comparisons' Course - Wine Tasting with Food

This is a five-week course, one evening per week.
It is a very sociable course for those who would like to learn more about specific wine producing countries and the foods which best accompany those wines.
Taste between 6 - 8 wines each week, together with a substantial supper - designed to help students discover the secrets of harmonising wines and food.
All dietary requirements are catered for. |

The course is aimed at adults who want to learn more about tasting wine, in relaxed company with like-minded individuals. It is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and socialise in a convivial atmosphere, and students often arrange a series of dinner parties of their own to practise skills learned on the course.

On completion of the course you should be able to:
- evaluate wine in relation to colour, bouquet and taste
- choose wines according to your personal taste and budget
- harmonise wines and foods
- recognise grape varieties from around the world
- apply critical awareness of wines outside the class, particularly
in restaurants and supermarkets
- discover the art of planning a meal with a suitable wine.

For those of you who just want to attend one-off classes as a guest, then the cost is £35 per person. Ex-students pay £30 per person.
Extras : £15 set of 6 professional tasting glasses - yours to keep after the course is finished – or you can just borrow ours for the duration of the course.
The fee includes tuition, information pack, fact sheets on wines to be tasted, end of term blind tasting and certificate. Each term will include between 65 - 70 different wines to be tasted, together with a substantial supper to be served each evening. This is to discover the secrets of harmonising wines and food. All dietary requirements are catered for.
